The Evil That is Panera

I've touched up my massive rant against Panera (and everything else evil in our society). It reads a lot better now. If you've never seen it, take a look - if you can stomach a view of the future where branding wins and independent restaurants go the way of independent bookstores. Plus a bite of horrid, horrid, unthinkably horrid pineapple upside down cake.

Beautiful writing, good and resonating message. Much appreciated.

I goggled "Panera is evil" because I have a visceral hatred for it. This piece helped verbalized why. In my clumsy wording, I reflexively hate Panera because it purposely confuses, has comfort food with horrible ingredients, pretends to be superior but is crap and charges too much.

I get dragged there by friends and invariably end up with something like a turkey sandwich with the turkey still frozen, or soup with undissolved clumps of cornstarch. And is seems every meal seems to end up a stealth carb explosion. I ended up with an irrational hatred of them because I feel the insidiousness.
