Early Work: Halloween

Not sure it comes thru in the photo, but I find this elementary school Halloween painting legit terrifying:

The (not always) unsentimental slog: a J.L. retrospective. I feel like trespassing. Sorry, B.H.

I would never subject readers to mere sentimentality. I always have a higher reason - a spin I'm putting on the ball - and I always intend it to be useful or interesting or entertaining for others.

That said, I do jump around an awful lot, so it's completely natural that some stuff won't float your boat. And I certainly don't mind if you see this as cheesy "cute kid" stuff. The series will be over in a few days, and in the meanwhile, there are thousands of postings well-index by tags, the best of which are listed to your left at the top of the page.

No idea who BH is, sorry.

Very gently put. I had only meant to express a carefulness, nothing negative. Regards, B. (as in school grade B or lower)

Oh, I didn't think we were arguing! I dealt with tens of thousands of internet trolls full-time for 8 years, I know what that is, and you're certainly not that!

Listen, I have no idea how I got here. I'm trying to understand. This series is archeology, and, without spoiling, the next few entries will show what I learned about myself and about the world from this exploration. So far it's just been warmup! Stay tuned! :)
